Dowel Jones Launches in Perth
Nothing says, “we’ve arrived in your city and we’re going to be great friends,” quite like putting on a party with burgers, donuts, tunes and a healthy dose of lip glossing.
This was exactly how Design Farm and Melbourne designers, Dowel Jones introduced their collection to Western Australia. The Melbourne lads transformed Fremantle’s Whitespace Gallery into one spectacular, kaleidoscopic exhibition of their minimalist furniture. Highlight pieces included the Full Hurdle Chair in a new colour signalling the comeback for emerald green upholstery (yes!) and their Bradley Hooper side table and Thimble Low Stool, all of which are pictured below.
The event featured a DJ set from Scarlett Stevens of San Cisco, sliders by Fremantle’s Short Order Burger Co. plus the all time crowd pleaser, Krispy Kreme donuts and drinks by Blind Corner and Rocky Ridge Brewing.) Can’t wait for the next one, Design Farm.

Designers Callum Campbell and Jack Flanagan had the idea of using a technique readily associated with mining to create a beautiful object. After extensive development and prototyping, they created the Grain Stool, a design that creates beauty from a context where it isn’t traditionally seen.
