Helix Light
Idiosyncratic and fresh, Marcel Sigel’s Helix Light reimagines the double helix structure of human DNA in a unique spherical form, also reminiscent of a paper lantern frame.
LED lights connect each of the helix’s, which are spaced equidistance, known as an Archimedean spiral. This form can be scaled up or down in size to create lights of different sizes.
Helix Light is one of the latest designs by a London based WADE. Marcel started out studying industrial design in Perth before establishing his highly awarded design career in Melbourne, Milan and London.
Talking of his approach, Marcel says,“[it is] founded on the notion that design should be impassioned, provoking the emotions, feelings and behaviour of those who come into contact with it.”
Marcel’s awards include Wallpaper Magazine’s Best Young Designer.
